Winner

Hamza Arsbi, MSc International Development, Global Development Institute

The Science League

Hamza founded the Science League to improve access to quality education and provide students with knowledge and skills to face global challenges, from increasing cross-cultural understanding to improving water security and renewable energy.

The Science League aims to support formal education through supplemental programmes and the development of affordable educational tools. Since 2012, it has developed five educational curricula for informal education and provided programmes to over 3000 students from underprivileged communities and Syrian refugees in Jordan.

Hamza says: "The Making a Difference Award provided me with a great feeling of support and recognition for my work. As an international student, this award made me feel at home in Manchester and gave me the boost I needed to continue my work.
