Faculty of Science and Engineering Better World Showcase

To highlight and share some of great work that goes on the Faculty of Science and Engineering a ‘Better World Showcase’ was held in January.

Over 40 posters were made for different aspects of social responsibility from some of our world leading researchers. Examples ranged from nuclear decontamination to the fantastic volunteering that our students do at home and abroad. Many examples of our wide variety of public engagement and outreach activities were also celebrated. The showcase went on the road for a week visiting Alan Turing Building and then a week in Renold Building where we asked people to ‘vote for their favourite’.

A celebration event was held in the grand surroundings of the Great Hall in Sackville Street Building on 1 February as a ‘thank you’ to all of the people who created posters and a number of the participants were congratulated with awards for their outstanding work.

We’d like to extend congratulations to all the teams, individuals and projects that were involved, with each entry demonstrating outstanding commitment to social responsibility and making a difference. You can view each entry at the Virtual Showcase online.
