Busy Bees WI celebrate their 2nd birthday

On 6 July, the University’s Women’s Institute, the ‘UoM Busy Bees’ will celebrate their second birthday. The group is the only workplace WI group in the Lancashire Federation of WIs, and meets every Thursday lunchtime from 1-2pm.

The small group of busy women are hoping to recruit new members, and all female colleagues and students are welcome to join them on 6 July for a ‘bring and share’ lunch, where you can find out more about the group.

Usually the first Thursday of every month is the official ‘monthly meeting’ with a guest speaker or an activity. All other Thursdays are informal meetings to chat and have lunch together. There are several in the group who knit or crochet, and are happy to teach those who’ve always wanted to learn. The group take part in the WI’s national resolutions, and look for ways to support these important campaigns.

The WI is open to University of Manchester students and staff, and members of the local community.
