Sustainability Experts Wanted!

Do you have expertise that could help the University achieve its sustainability objectives and become a leader in the field? If so then please apply to join the new University of Manchester Academic Advisory Group for Sustainability.

The University of Manchester has set out a series of policies relating to sustainability and is currently developing its post 2020 vision. We are seeking academics with expertise in sustainability and related fields to work with the Academic Leads for Environmental Sustainability and the University Environmental Sustainability Team to advise on and develop sustainability projects and programmes.

Academics are welcome from a range of areas, including:

• Carbon reduction.
• Natural resource efficiency and conservation.
• Waste, resources and the circular economy.
• Lab sustainability.
• Sustainable building design and construction.
• Sustainable Travel.
• Sustainable IT.
• Behavioural change.
• ES related policy development.
• Environmental management systems.

Individuals are welcome to apply for multiple areas.

The role will operate at a University level to help shape future policy alongside the Environmental Sustainability team and leading academics.

Academics will ideally be drawn from all parts of the University and from all levels including PhDs. The role will be of benefit to the University but also to staff looking to enhance their research, teaching and career progression. No more than 10 hours of work will be expected in any given year.
