Green Impact Auditing

For the past few years, the University has run the successful Green Impact scheme. Green Impact encourages teams to reduce their environmental impact by completing criteria in an online workbook to achieve either a Bronze, Silver or Gold award.

During October, student volunteers are trained as environmental auditors who then audit Green Impact teams. They begin the audit by interviewing team members, picking out actions that the students found insightful or interesting, or ones which they would like to see more evidence for. Once the audit has finished, the students complete an audit report which determines the level of award the team receives.

This process is a great way for students to gain both training and practical environmental auditing experience. They also get to visit parts of the University that they may never otherwise see. The staff members who are audited really enjoy the interaction with students as well as showing them what they have achieved through Green Impact.

Green Impact will open for new entrants in November. For more information visit the sustainability website.
