School-University Partnership Initiative

The University of Manchester is hosting a networking event to promote our School-University Partnership Initiative (SUPI).

The School-University Partnership Initiative is a Research Councils UK-funded project to create structured and strategic mechanisms for universities to work in partnership with secondary schools and further education colleges. This supports researchers’ direct engagement with students and brings contemporary and inspirational research contexts into formal and informal learning to enhance and enrich the curriculum. The event will bring together researchers and teachers to talk to each other about their work, and allow individuals to identify opportunities for collaborating over the course of the SUPI project.

Delegates will have the opportunity to:

  • Understand the aims and objectives of the School-University Partnership Initiative.
  • Hear from teachers, students and researchers about previous successful collaborations involving young people and research.
  • Explore the range of possible collaborations through informal meetings with University researchers.

The networking event will be of interest to secondary or post-16 teachers of any subject area interested in engaging themselves and their students with current academic research.
