Take part in 10,000 Actions and receive your carbon literacy certificate

Last week, The University of Manchester was named the first Carbon Literate university in the world as the 10,000 Actions programme is an accredited carbon literacy programme. This means that all staff members who have taken part in 10,000 Actions can receive their own carbon literacy certificate after completing a questionnaire to demonstrate your knowledge of sustainability. To apply for one visit our carbon literacy webpages.

Over 8,000 actions have been pledged so far as part of 10,000 Actions, the biggest environmental sustainability project in higher education. The programme takes around an hour to complete however you do not have to do it all in one go, you can go back to it as many times as you need to. To add your actions, visit 10,000 Actions.

For every completed action plan, £1 will be donated towards planting Heroes Wood in Gorton, a World War One centenary woodland to commemorate the involvement of Mancunians in the First World War.
