Walking Event

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and the pedestrian charity Living Streets, supported the University’s walking group, Lunchtime Strollers, on Thursday 11 February with two 45 minute walks and stalls with information and incentives, situated inside University Place. The walks are a great way to take a break from work, feel healthier and meet new people. The walkers were lucky enough to soak up some sunshine as well as some local historical knowledge. Staff who would like to sign up to participate in lunchtime walks or find out more, can do so by visiting the Lunchtime Strollers website.

Here are just a few ways walking can improve your health:

  • Reduces stress and anxiety
  • Helps your heart and lungs work better
  • Lowers blood pressure
