Greater Manchester Combined Authority Green Summit Survey

Following his election, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, announced his ambitions for making Greater Manchester one of the leading green cities in Europe.

To help realise these ambitions, he called for a landmark Green Summit, which is being held on 21 March 2018. Following an extensive consultation phase, the summit will bring together environmental experts, interest groups, partner agencies, academics and local people together to establish a ‘green charter’, accelerate Greater Manchester’s green ambitions, and explore the earliest possible milestones for achieving carbon neutrality.

In the same way that the environment effects everyone, everyone has something to bring to the table about protecting it. GMCA would like representation from all areas of our society on the day, to contribute to our region’s plans to accelerate our ambition to become ‘carbon neutral’ sooner than the current 2050 target. The existing target is challenging but the latest facts say we simply must go even further. The day’s agenda intends to inspire, create dialogue and resolution and we would like you to be part of this event.

GMCA wants your support to achieve the goal of making Greater Manchester a leading green and carbon-neutral city region. Take 5 minutes to complete the survey, sharing your priorities and ideas for creating a natural, liveable and successful city region.
