10,000 Actions fund is now open

£10,000 available for staff environmental sustainability initiatives

Following the relaunch of our environmental sustainabibility engagement programme for staff, 10,000 Actions, applications to access our 10,000 Actions fund are now being accepted. 10,000 Actions is the largest environmental sustainability initiative in the higher education sector and aims to make a difference in tackling one of the world’s greatest challenges.

Funding is intended to support activities that enhance environmental sustainability across the University and is available until Friday, 22 March 2019. The total fund value is £10,000, and up to £2,500 is available per activity, although we anticipate the majority of applications and awards will be under £1,000.

We welcome your ideas on environmentally sustainable initiatives. Here are some of the activities 10,000 Actions has already funded:

  • Energy-efficient lab equipment
  • Improvements to the living campus
  • Development of a toolkit to reduce the need for business air travel
