On Cancer publication launch event

The University’s Policy@Manchester are delighted to announce the launch of our new publication, On Cancer, and to share a national launch event in London, on 3 March.

This exciting new publication, which we officially launched on World Cancer Day (4 February), showcases pioneering research and policy recommendations on access to cancer care, data & AI in healthcare, advanced treatments, and international collaboration. You can read an online copy of On Cancer here.

In particular, On Cancer provides insight and advice on improving cancer outcomes in deprived communities, highlighting the importance of community engagement and moving screening services outside clinical environments, to more accessible settings. This is part of a wider call for a refocussing of cancer care, to emphasise prevention and early diagnosis.

As part of this launch, we are holding a national event on 3 March, at Church House, Westminster, from 1:30 – 3:30pm. This will feature a panel with academic contributors to the publication, as well as policymakers and influencers in healthcare and research – a full list of speakers to follow. The event will include refreshments.

  • 1:30 – 2pm: refreshments and networking
  • 2 – 3pm: Panel event (including Q&A)
  • 3 – 3:30pm: Discussion and further networking

If you would like to attend this event, please email policy@manchester.ac.uk to register your interest. Please would you also let us know of any dietary or access requirements you may have.
