Nominate your unsung hero for the Volunteer of the Year Award

If you know a staff member, student group, student or alumnus from The University of Manchester who you think is worthy of a Volunteer of the Year Award, make a nomination. Nominations can be submitted by anyone from within or outside the University.

Every year the University celebrates the actions of students, staff and alumni who give their time and commitment to communities locally, nationally and internationally through our Volunteer of the Year Awards.

We are looking for nominations in four categories:

  • Student of the Year – open to any current undergraduate or postgraduate of The University of Manchester. This award is in association with University of Manchester Students’ Union.
  • Student Group of the Year (group) – open to any group of current students who volunteer together.
  • Staff of the Year – open to any current staff member of the University.
  • Alumni of the Year – open to any graduate of The University of Manchester (including Victoria University and UMIST).

To be eligible for these awards, the activities must address disadvantaged groups or deprived communities. Nominations should also not be for work that is part of a nominee’s job but be over and above that which is expected.

Each winner receives a cash prize for their organisation: £300 for the overall winner, and £200 and £100 for the 2nd and 3rd place runners up. Nominations close 9am Monday 2 March.
