Manchester Museum transformation project

As Manchester Museum enters the final stage of its exciting £13.5 million transformation project it will temporarily close the doors to allow for the next stage of construction to take place safely.

The museum will be closed to the public from Sunday 29 August 2021 until late 2022. There’s still chance to see Stan the T.rex and your other favourites over the summer. Entry is free, but booking is required: https://www.museum.manchester.ac.uk/visit/

Once construction work is complete the museum will feature a beautiful new two-storey extension, a new entrance and shop, new galleries, and inclusive and accessible facilities.

The hello future transformation aims to build understanding between cultures and create a more sustainable world.

Although the museum’s doors will be temporarily closed from 29 August 2021, the team is still here for you and will be holding pop-up events, outreach programmes, digital activities and so much more!
