Global Development Institute new appointment

This month sees changes at the top of the Global Development Institute, as Uma Kothari’s term as managing director comes to an end. Uma will be replaced by Diana Mitlin, who will serve a three year term.

Diana, an expert in urban poverty, has been at the University since 2001 and brings a wealth of experience from her time working with iied and close ties with organisations such as Shack / Slum Dwellers International. You can read all about her research in an interview on our blog.

Uma has done a fantastic job, not least to get the Global Development Institute up and running and we’re looking forward to her forthcoming research on migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
