Animation18 launch

Our School of Computer Science has recently launched Animation18, an animation competition aimed at school and college students aged from 7-19. The students need to make a one minute animated film on their computer to be in with the chance of winning great prizes.

Animations on the theme of keeping safe online can win prizes in a special eSafety category sponsored by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

The deadline for entering is 23 March 2018.

Students can use any software they like and stop-motion animations are also eligible. File formats accepted are: sb/sb2, mov, mp4, avi, swf.

Teachers need to register their school to take part and will receive free colour A2 posters to promote the competition to their students.

Last year’s competition received 1,000 entries from 130 schools across the UK – the winners can be seen on this YouTube channel.
