Tree Trail Launch

On the 12 October the University Tree Trail will go live. The tree trail is an exciting, innovative and interactive guide that has been designed to allow people to discover more about the interesting and beautiful trees on campus. We’re fortunate to have over 1,500 trees across the Oxford Road campus, North campus and Whitworth Park with more than 50 different species represented all providing something different and performing valuable jobs.

The tree trail is full of interest with a variety of trees to explore, wildlife to catch site of and glimpses of our heritage woven into an intriguing walk that highlights the importance of trees for people and the environment. Share your own campus tree photos and stories with us on Instagram or Twitter @uomsust #uomtrees.

The tree trail has been developed as part of the University’s Living Campus Plan which addresses the challenges of a growing urban campus alongside the opportunities a healthy environment provides for people and nature.

The Tree Trail will be launched, along with a photo competition, at Manchester Museum on 12 October from 12:30 featuring a number of guest speakers including Dr. Anna Gilchrist, Manchester City Council and The Tree Musketeers.

Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
