Engagement @ Manchester

Engagement@Manchester provides a series of informal meetings exploring different aspects of public engagement. There is a wealth of expertise across the University and we are running these free events to help us share engaging ideas and experiences. Everyone is welcome – no experience in engagement activities needed.

Free Science Communication Socials take place regularly across the UK, providing opportunities to meet others with an interest in public engagement and science communication. Visit the Science Communication Socials.

BIG Science Communicators Network

This is a skills sharing network for those involved in the communication of science, technology, engineering and maths. BIG runs regular events and training courses and provides opportunities for networking with other professional science communicators. A membership fee applies. NCCPE Public Engagement Professionals (PEP) network

This is a forum to support public engagement professionals across the UK working in higher education and research, providing access to CPD, peer support and the latest thinking on public engagement. Visit the NCCPE PEP network.

Public Engagement with Science (PSCI-COM)

This is an email list to provide a forum for discussion of any matter relating to public communication of science and public engagement with science. Sign up to the PSCI-COM mailing list.

Lifeology

This is a platform and network to engage broader audiences in science, health and research in a fun, accessible way. Take part in monthly challenges to improve your science communication skills, and connect with scientists, health experts, artists, storytellers, expert reviewers and audiences to improve science and health communication. Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST) network

UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres (ASDC)

ASDC brings together over 60 major science engagement organisations in the UK. Together, our vision is for a society where people of all backgrounds and in all parts of the UK are inspired and fully involved with the sciences. Visit the ASDC.

University Museums Group (UMG)

UMG actively campaigns for the university museum sector. UMG advocates for its members nationally and internationally and provides networking opportunities and regular seminars. A membership fee applies. Visit the UMG.
