If you had £20 million to help accelerate progress in cancer research, how would you spend it? That’s the question posed by the Cancer Research UK Grand Challenge. Explore the challenges faced by scientists through hands-on activities, and share your views.

22 October 2015, 7pm at Manchester Art Gallery

Guests will have the chance to find out about the pioneering new Grand Challenge, an unprecedented pot of funding available to break down the barriers that stand in the way of progress to beat cancer sooner. Hear from the Grand Challenge team and the people who have helped to choose the science that needs the money most. Explore these areas through hands on activities supported by University of Manchester scientists, before an interactive debate on whether everyone should have a say in how CRUK spends its money. One in two of us will develop cancer in our lifetime. Is research funding best left to the experts, or should this be a democratic process? Join us and have your say.
