It gives me great pleasure to announce the launch of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s new Outreach Fund.

There are three levels of funding: small (up to £2000); medium (£2,000 – 10,000); and large (£10,000-50,000).

The fund aims to encourage and support the development of projects that:

  • Raise awareness of the place of chemistry in people’s everyday lives, especially those not already interested in chemistry, and/or
  • Develop the science communication skills of people who are already highly trained in chemistry.

The first round of Small Grants is now open for applications, with a deadline of 31 July. Application forms, guidelines and other useful information can be found here.

The Medium and Large Grants will be opened for application early in the autumn.
