Free public event on International Clinical Trials Day, Monday 20 May 2013 (2pm – 4pm), at the Nowgen Centre, 29 Grafton Street, Manchester, M13 9WU.

Explore research in the NHS and find out why ‘It’s OK to ask’ your doctors about research, as part of International Clinical Trials Day. Everyone is warmly invited to join us – no background knowledge about medical research is needed.

The event will feature presentations from: Simon Denegri (NIHR Director for Public Participation and Engagement in Research), Professor Colin Sibley, Professor Ian Bruce, Dr Rick Body and special guests

This event has been designed to enable you to explore research in the NHS and how to get involved. There’s lots of ways you can get involved with research. You may want to consider working with researchers to influence the way research is planned, measured or communicated, improve the experience for people taking part, or even participate yourself.

Join us on International Clinical Trials Day to learn more about our research and the role doctors, nurses and patients/healthy volunteers play in improving health through research. This is one of a series of ‘It’s OK to ask’ events across the UK, to encourage people to ask their family doctor or consultant about clinical research.
