I am one of three PhD students studying metallurgy as part of the Advanced Metallic Systems Centre for Doctoral Training at the Universities of Manchester and Sheffield who have recently developed a fun and engaging animation exploring property testing.

The animation can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyJ8Uw84hh0 and it uses the characters of Alan aluminium and Tyrone titanium to investigate the properties of different metals. The animation is mainly aimed at primary school students, but it is hoped it will also be of interest to other audiences.

We have created this animation as part of an outreach project, which aims to engage the general public with materials science.

We would be keen to hear your feedback, so if you have chance after watching the animation, please do complete the short evaluation survey here.
