Friday, 15 April 2016, free for all participants, Office for Fair Access, Bristol, Signup Deadline: Wednesday, 13 April 2016
Early career researchers make a highly important contribution to the policies and practices of widening participation, fair access, and issues of equity in relation to higher education. However bringing new research to the attention of the sector is not always an easy process: building networks and accessing key stakeholders takes time and challenging prevailing discourses or practices can be an uncomfortable experience, particularly when research is picked up by the media.
In this one day event, sponsored by the Office for Fair Access and delivered in partnership with the Society for Research in to Higher Education, we highlight how early career researchers are seeking to shape HE policy and practice, whilst addressing some of the challenges that they may face in seeking to do so.
