As part of an ongoing collaboration between the University of Manchester and schools in Lancashire, the Manchester Fly Facility have been asked to run an extracurricular day of fly workshops for school pupils on Thur 4th July at Scarisbrickhall School in Ormskirk.
The event last year was one of the largest school events we have taken part in with over 200 pupil attending from approx 12 different schools.
The plan would be to run 4x 25 min workshops in parallel which pupils would rotate around. Each fly workshop would consist of an interactive presentation with hands on fly activities.
The first workshop will commence at 9:30am so to avoid traffic and allow enough time to set up we would need to leave Manchester at 7:30am at the latest. The event will finish at 2:50pm and we aim to be back in Manchester between 4:30-5pm. Transport and refreshments/lunch will be provided.
We are in need of one or two more volunteers to assist during this event. If you are free that day and would like to take part or would like further information please contact me asap (sanjai.patel@manchester.ac.uk). Full training given.
