The performance team from Maths Busking will be entertaining the crowds once again at this year’s British Science Festival in Aberdeen in September 2012 – and we’re looking for new recruits!
We’ll be running a two day training programme for budding Maths Buskers on 31 August and 1 September, with performance in Aberdeen as part of the Festival the following weekend.
The free training programme, kindly sponsored by the British Science Festival, is open to anyone wanting to do mathematics communication, including researchers, teachers, communicators, students, and performers of any kind.
The session will be led by Maths Busking co-founder Matt Parker, the Stand-up Mathematician, and busking expert Ken Farquhar, better known as science performer Dr Ken.
The training programme will focus on presentation skills and talking to the public, as well as busking techniques. Mathematics routines will be explored in the context of street performance. You will also have the opportunity to entertain the public as part of the British Science Festival, alongside our experienced performers.
