Researcher shortlisted for Shaw Trust Disability Power 100

Harriet Larrington-Spencer a doctoral researcher in Geography at the University, has been shortlisted for the 2021 Shaw Trust Disability Power 100, as one of the most influential disabled people in the UK.

The Shaw Trust Power 100 is an annual publication of the 100 most influential disabled people in the UK; the full list will be announced as a book in October.

Since its inception four years ago, the publication enables the Shaw Trust to encourage businesses, employers and other organisations to reflect on opportunities available for disabled people. The list plays a vital role in providing much needed encouragement to the young and talented leaders of tomorrow, like Harriet, highlighting that aspiration and ambition can be fulfilled regardless of disability or impairment.

Reflecting on this fantastic achievement, Harriet commented: “I’m very proud to have been selected for the 2021 Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 as one of the most influential disabled people in the UK, and even more proud to be on the list alongside so many fantastic disabled people who are all working hard for a more inclusive world.”
