The hedgehog friendly action group litter-pick
On Thursday 14, November, The University of Manchester’s hedgehog friendly action group returned to Whitworth Park for their third litter-pick! The hedgehog friendly action group is comprised of committed staff members who are looking to make our University campus a safer space for wildlife. Several passionate student volunteers also attended the event.
Despite a cancellation the day prior due to bad weather the group pushed through on the considerably sunnier Thursday and managed to collect 13 bags of litter. The total number of bags now collected in line with the Hedgehog Friendly Campus’ The Big Hog Friendly Litter Pick Challenge stands at 32 bags!
The hedgehog action group are currently also in the process of organising a festive bake sale to raise money for a wildlife charity that works with hedgehogs. This event will take place in early December.
