Educating out prejudice through LGBT+ History Month

The University’s School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED), Faculty of Humanities, and University Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team invite attendees to an LGBT+ History Month guest lecture from Emeritus Professor Sue Sanders.

Sue Sanders is co-founder of UK LGBT+ History Month, Chair of Schools OUT UK and a lifelong LGBT+ activist, receiving lifetime achievement awards from Rainbow Honours and the National Education Union.

In this lecture, Sue will explore how we can use LGBT+ History Month – and other months dedicated to minoritised groups – to challenge stereotypes and celebrate the many achievements which have gone unsung, and been vital to society. This will be of particular interest to educators and students, but also to anyone interested in equality, diversity and inclusion within and beyond education.

This free event will be hosted in Lecture Theatre A, University Place, The University of Manchester (and online) on Wednesday 18 February from 5-6pm. The talk will be followed by a drinks reception on the ground floor of University Place.
