Get involved in health research

Research for the Future is an NHS supported campaign that helps people find out about and take part in health and care research. Getting involved in health research could not only benefit a person’s wellbeing but also contribute to improving care and treatments for others.

Everyone aged over 18 can register, whether they have a health condition or not.

By registering, individuals will receive information about research opportunities and guidance on how to get involved. Opportunities vary and may include:

  • Completing questionnaires
  • Joining discussion groups
  • Testing medical equipment
  • Participating in clinical trials for new treatments

Research for the Future is especially keen to hear from people living with heart, respiratory and kidney conditions, diabetes and long COVID.

Registration is available online at: www.researchforthefuture.org/register

Seeking participants for research?

Research for the Future also supports researchers by helping them involve, engage, and recruit the right people for their studies. Research teams at The University of Manchester have used the service for a wide range of research activities, including:

  • Grant applications
  • Clinical trials
  • Interview studies
  • Recruiting people for patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) initiatives

Researchers are encouraged to get in touch early to receive tailored advice on integrating the service into their recruitment strategy.
