Library introduces paperless reservations
The University Library has introduced paperless book reservations – a move that will save enough paper to wrap around the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons more than 30 times.
Last year, the Library ordered 6,300 meters of multi-coloured paper rolls for these reservation slips. Now, when a customer reserves a book, customers will receive an email notification that their item is awaiting collection on a shelf under the first letter of their last name.
This will be implemented across all the Library’s 11 sites apart from the Eddie Davies Library in the Alliance Manchester Business School where there are Smart Lockers in operation.
