Making a Difference Awards 2017

On 30 November the annual Making a Difference Awards for social responsibility will open for entries.

Coordinated by the Office for Social Responsibility, the awards recognise and celebrate the many different types of social responsibility achievements of the University’s academic, professional support, library and cultural institution staff, students, alumni and external partners.

The awards cover a wide range of contributions to the University’s social responsibility strategy, with categories including sustainability, public and community engagement, teaching and research impact on society, widening participation, volunteering, social enterprise, responsible processes and equality and diversity.

Colleagues can nominate themselves or someone else for an award. Previous winners and highly commended recipients state how receiving a Making a Difference Award has often helped develop their project, highlighted the impact of their work, provided well-deserved recognition to those involved and in some cases secured further resources.

This event celebrates and raises awareness of the many ways in which individuals and teams across the University make a real difference to the social and environmental wellbeing of our communities and wider society.
