Our top five stories in March

Find out about some of our social responsibility highlights from March:

First, we’ve launched a new project with Medlock Primary School in Ardwick. Our students are sharing their educational journeys and passions with pupils showing University as an exciting option while getting students to engage with the local community.

Second, we’re giving nursing and medical students the chance to learn in real occupational health settings. This initiative is helping our students build practical skills from health surveillance to immunisation and vaccination programmes, while supporting the wider community.

Our Great Science Share for Schools continues to inspire the next generation of scientists. The initiative encourages school pupils aged 5-14 to ask, investigate and share the scientific questions that matter to them. In 2025, over 800,00 students across 52 countries engaged.

We celebrated International Women’s Day across the University, including an event on the importance of advancing women’s health across research, education and society.

Finally, save the date for our annual Universally Manchester Festival on Saturday 13 June. Join us on campus for a free day of fun for all the family.
