How many dinosaurs do you know who are willing to dress up for Christmas and bring in donations for brilliant Manchester-based charities?

Well, Manchester Museum’s Tyrannosaurus rex, Stan, is a bit special. He’s putting on his Santa hat again this year as part of the annual gift drive, Stan’s Secret Santa.

Stan will be dressed in his festive finery from Tuesday 2 December to Sunday 7 December and Manchester Museum are inviting people to come down, snap a selfie with Stan and donate food and gifts for charities Barnabus, Mustard Tree and Wood Street Mission.

There will be festive events throughout the week too, from carol singing and to craft sessions where you’ll be able to design your own gift wrap.
