The Better World showcase: celebrating social responsibility and EDIA at Manchester
The University of Manchester’s Faculty of Science and Engineering recently held its annual Better World Showcase, culminating in a vibrant celebration event that brought together staff, students, and the wider community. This uplifting occasion celebrated outstanding contributions in Social Responsibility and Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIA).
This year, over 200 people were nominated by their colleagues and students for their remarkable efforts to create a Better World. Each nominee’s dedication was spotlighted, demonstrating FSE’s commitment to building a more inclusive and socially responsible community.
Guests explored engaging poster displays and online case studies, each highlighting exceptional projects and individuals who have made a significant impact within the Faculty. A celebrative showcase followed, featuring inspiring talks and videos that shone a light on this year’s nominees. Every nominee was named and recognised as part of the celebration. Both in-person and online attendees had the chance to connect, share ideas, and explore the showcased projects.
The event spotlighted how FSE staff and students are driving change through Social Responsibility and EDIA. The FSE Social Responsibility and EDIA Team extends their gratitude to everyone who attended and supported the event.
