Everyone is invited to our Making a Difference Awards

Join us live from Whitworth Hall to celebrate how our staff, students, alumni and external partners are making a difference.

Everyone is invited to join our Chancellor Nazir Afzal OBE and President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, live online for our annual Making a Difference Awards for social responsibility and civic engagement. 

We’re hosting our 2023 awards ceremony live from the Whitworth Hall, where we will be presenting the winners and highly commended Awards in person. Why not tune in live on YouTube and join our annual event to help us celebrate the many ways in which our University community is making a difference?

The 2023 shortlist includes projects as far ranging as revolutionising the screening of women at high risk of breast cancer, to opening the doors to cultural establishments for neurodivergent young people. 

The event is an opportunity for us all to show our appreciation for the positive impact that our University community are having on society and the environment.
