The aim of our Manchester Access Programme (MAP) is to inspire talented, local year 12 students to realise their full potential and benefit from an excellent university education, regardless of their background.

Ever wanted to find out a little more about some of our staff, students and community partners and what inspires them to make a difference? In our “Meet the…” films we feature a series of personal stories and perspectives of being a part of the University.

Dr Tanja Bastia from the University’s Global Development Institute, and colleagues Dr Erika Busse Cárdenas and Dr María Calderón Muñoz, recently ran a photography competition to document the voices and images of migrants living in Latin America through the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Manchester China Institute (MCI) has teamed up with the Manchester China Forum (MCF) and the University’s International Office on a new initiative to help integrate new Chinese students into campus life, while simultaneously enriching the campus experience for local students.

The University’s environmental sustainability engagement programme, formerly 10,000 Actions, has been extended to the whole of our student body and is now the biggest environmental sustainability initiative in the higher education sector – 50,000 Actions.
