On 31 March the University hosted a large “Meet the Buyer” event in Whitworth Hall. As part of the Construction Partnering Framework for the next phase of the University’s construction masterplan, this event provided an opportunity for contractors to learn about the masterplan and meet with representatives from both the University and the framework partners.

Several areas of the University were represented, including teams from Procurement, Environmental Sustainability and Social Responsibility. Contractors were informed of the strategic and operational importance the University places on social responsibility and how they could help play a part in delivering the masterplan sustainably, whilst providing maximum benefit to local communities through the employment and apprenticeship initiatives available.

Together, both the morning and afternoon sessions attracted over 200 contractors keen to find out about the opportunities available to them.
