Social Justice Photography Competition – Voting opens soon

Vote in the Social Justice Photography Competition from Monday, 12 April – Friday, 16 April.

Students at The University of Manchester were asked to submit a photo and caption which raises awareness of a social justice issue that’s important to them, and soon they will go to a vote. This year, the team have received over 100 photo entries from undergraduate and postgraduate taught students – a record number of entries.

How to vote:

  • Facebook (Monday 12 – Friday 16 April)

The photographs will be uploaded to @TheUniversityofManchester Facebook account, each ‘like’ counts as a vote

  • Instagram Story Poll (Wednesday 22 April)

Vote for your favourites in the @officialuom Instagram story. This is running for 24 hours on 22 April.

The competition raises awareness of our Social Justice Challenge, an online activity which introduces students to topics such as race, homelessness, mental health and higher education. This forms part of the University’s signature Ethical Grand Challenges program which engages students to become socially responsible graduates.

Winners of the photography competition will be announced at the Volunteer of the Year Awards in May.
