MCRStrollers walk with Invisible Manchester

Last week a number of MCRStrollers joined Invisible Manchester for a tour of the city that was supported by the Directorate of Social Responsibility.

Invisible Manchester train people who have been affected by homelessness to become walking tour guides. The tours invite the audience to understand more about Manchester’s powerful past and present, but also reveal a personal side of the city affected by homelessness. The aim is to create a dialogue between the public and people affected by homelessness whilst simultaneously equipping the tour guides with valuable skills that can be used to expand their horizons. More information is on this impact report and on their facebook page.

Danny was the tour guide and shared his insights of the city along with his moving poetry about his experiences. Everyone who attended was very inspired by his words and also wanted to be part of the movement that helps destigmatise homelessness.
