Are you a Dementia Friend?

Since 2014 the University of Manchester has been involved with the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme, an initiative that aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about dementia. And we’d like as many members of staff as possible to attend a dementia friends information session.

Attending a dementia friends session at Staff Learning & Development takes only 50 minutes and the sessions are held over lunchtime to make them more accessible for staff.

If you would like to learn more about what it is to live with dementia and how you can support those with dementia, even people you don’t know, and you can spare 50 minutes one lunchtime, go to our Staff Learning and Development website to sign up or click here for more information

If you are not a member of University staff or are unable to attend one of the University lead sessions, you can find alternative sessions via the Alzheimer’s Society website, you can also complete the information session online, click here for more details.
