The Volunteering and Social Justice Fair

The University is hosting its annual Volunteering and Social Justice Fair on Tuesday 17 October in Academy 1.

The Fair is a great chance for students to talk to a diverse range of charities and not-for-profit organisations and find volunteering opportunities to get involved with during their time at university.

In addition, the new Social Justice Challenge, the second strand of the Ethical Grand Challenges programme, will be launched at the Fair.

Volunteering

An opportunity to meet volunteering organisations face-to-face allowing students to learn more about the important work the organisations do and discover exciting ways to help tackle important issues within the local and global community.

Up to 100 different volunteering organisations will be at the Fair from a wide range of sectors including cultural, environmental, health, sport and social inclusion. Each organisation provides a different way for students to get involved in the Manchester community and meet a variety of new people.

Social Justice Challenge

Social Justice is the Ethical Grand Challenge for 2nd Year students. This online Challenge introduces students to ways of thinking about social justice, and invites them to explore 4 themes: Higher Education, Mental Health, Trade and Energy from a social justice perspective. Students will also find out about how they can help promote a fairer society within Manchester, the UK and across the globe. The Social Justice Challenge is the second step towards students achieving the Manchester Leadership Award.
