Being Human Festival 2025 – Latin Grooves and Global Moves!
On 14 November 2025, from 1pm to 1.50pm, join four-time Grammy Award–winning Puerto Rican percussionist Carlos Maldonado in concert with the Oxford Road Experiment, an eighteen-piece ensemble of talented young musicians and recent graduates from the University of Manchester.
This vibrant programme of Afro–Latin jazz includes the world premiere of Maldonado’s Navarro Dreams, a striking fusion of Puerto Rican Bomba Sica with the distinctive sounds of Mancunian pop.
Music lovers of all ages are welcome to enjoy the many voices of Latin American music, including popular songs from the American Songbook arranged in contemporary Afro–Latin settings.
Families and individuals are welcome, no booking required. If you would like to attend with a larger school or organisational group, please contact the organiser.
Doors open at 1pm, for a prompt 1.10pm start.
