Annual cycling event 2017
On 15 June it was the University’s turn to host Corridor Manchester’s Annual Cycling Event. Organised by the University’s Environmental Sustainability Team, and run in conjunction with National Clean Air Day, the event was held at University Place. The day consisted of a free breakfast for cyclists, musical performances from RNCM students and bike sales and repairs from a number of local retailers and community organisations. There was a photo booth to capture the day’s antics and a plant sale for people to add some greenery to their workplaces and homes.
There were many fun cycle related games and competitions, interactive cycling activities and freebies to pick up. Individuals also helped to create a colourful communal art installation by decorating bikes and bees which were displayed under some iconic Manchester landmarks.
The Manchester weather held out for the best part and there was a great turnout with around 500 people dropping in throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the organisation of the event and to everyone who took part on the day.
