Call for Festival Ambassadors – Universally Manchester Festival – Volunteering Opportunity

The Office for Social Responsibility is excited to host the annual Universally Manchester Festival, on Saturday 13 June 2026, welcoming thousands of visitors from across Greater Manchester and beyond to a vibrant, family-friendly day on campus.

We’re inviting colleagues, postgraduate students, and public contributors to get involved as festival ambassadors.

Location

The festival will take place across the University campus.

Festival Ambassadors roles:

We’re looking for volunteers to support festival logistics on the day, which includes:

  • Welcoming visitors to the event and sharing the programme of festival activities
  • Helping with wayfinding around campus
  • Supporting set-up and take-down

Who can take part

Open to all university colleagues and postgraduate students, and our public contributors. No previous experience is required, and a full briefing will be provided.

What do previous festival ambassadors say?

“I’ve been a festival volunteer for several years now and really enjoy being involved. As someone passionate about social responsibility and public engagement, it’s a joy to be part of showing the public what we do. It’s a full-on day but a really rewarding one, with one highlight being able to interact with the public, staff and students.” – Sam Franklin, FBMH

How to get involved

Save the date – Saturday 13 June – and complete the expression of interest form by Monday 1 June 2026. If you have any queries, please email engagement@manchester.ac.uk
