Here comes the sun: enjoy the outdoors at The University of Manchester
May is TfGM’s Walking Month and Festival so posed a fantastic opportunity for staff, students and the local community to get outside and enjoy some of nature’s beauty across campus and the local area. Due to the beautiful spring weather we have been experiencing, the campus has been looking even more impressive than usual and people have been making the most of the outdoors including the open sections of the new Brunswick Park. Some other highlights include the new wildflower meadow in Brunswick Park, the living wall on the Schuster Building, Whitworth Park and the magnificent trees along the Tree Trail that have sprung into life.
The MCRStrollers (formerly Lunchtime Strollers) offer weekly walks and have been running walks as part of the Transport for Greater Manchester’s Walking Month taking in sites from Pankhurst House to Victoria Baths.
Enjoying the outdoors, from exercising to just observing nature and the changing seasons, is the perfect way to boost your wellbeing. Why not follow the Tree Trail, try a walking meeting, run or cycle to work or picnic in a park and see for yourself.
