More Schools earn recognition for gender equality work
Athena SWAN (Scientific Women’s Academic Network) is a charter run by Advance HE. Organisations apply for an Athena SWAN charter award to recognise their commitment to and progress on gender equality and diversity.
The University has a long history of Athena SWAN awards recognising efforts to further gender equality; it has been 10 years since the University was first awarded Athena SWAN Bronze.
In the last few weeks all three schools in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health have achieved a Silver Athena SWAN Award.
The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences has also been successful in achieving a Bronze Athena SWAN award.
The University is committed to demonstrating a real culture change within our individual Schools. Currently, from the University’s 17 Schools, seven have a Silver award and eight have a Bronze award.
