New Vice Deans for Social Responsibility
We are delighted to announce two new Vice Deans for Social Responsibility, who will be joining Professor Ken McPhail, the Associate Dean for Social Responsibility in the Faculty of Humanities. Professor Mahesh Nirmalan will become the Vice Dean in the new Faculty of Biology Medicine and Health from the formal launch of the new Faculty on 1 August. Mahesh is currently a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Academic Lead for years 3, 4, and 5 and Director of Clinical Placements in Manchester Medical School. He will bring his experience of health policy and education, and international experience in developing innovative contributions to bringing health care to hard to reach communities to this new role.
Professor Paul Mativenga is the new Vice Dean for Social Responsibility in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) and is currently Chair in Multi-scale and Sustainable Manufacturing in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MACE). His knowledge of environmental sustainability and work for the Race Charter mark self-assessment team means he will make a major contribution to Social Responsibility Goal both in FSE and across the University.
