The Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability teams are gathering information on how our staff are playing an active role in achieving sustainable development,’ and for every response £2 will be donated to the Big Change Fund to tackle homelessness in Manchester.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the world’s ‘to-do list’ for increasing social and environmental wellbeing on earth. As part of the University’s social responsibility and environmental sustainability priorities, we are investigating how, as a University, we contribute to the SDGs. We will be developing a publication and web-presence to display this activity at a later date.
Many of our colleagues are already playing an active role in achieving one or more of the 17 different SDGs through their work – be it through research, teaching, outreach work or professional services activities. For example they might be researching sustainable development, teaching about inequalities, delivering public engagement activity on gender equality or producing policies on procurement and human resources.
We would like our staff to share any examples of how they or their teams are contributing to the SDGs by filling in this short survey before Friday, 23 November. The survey takes just five minutes to complete.
To encourage responses, a donation of £2 will be made to the Big Change Fund to tackle homelessness in Manchester for each participant.
