Psychology and Mental Health seminar series

The University’s Division of Psychology and Mental Health hosts a monthly seminar series aimed at sharing research in psychology and mental health. These seminars highlight the Division’s commitment to fostering dialogue, networking, and collaboration by offering a platform for researchers at all career stages, from postgraduate researchers to emeritus professors, to present their research to the wider community. The series brings together scholars from across the UK and internationally, ensuring a rich diversity of perspectives.

With a strong emphasis on accessibility, these hour-long, hybrid events are free and open to everyone and are held in-person on campus or on Zoom. Previous attendees have included NHS staff, nonprofit and charity organisations, and members of the public who may be impacted by or interested in the topics discussed.

The seminars present an excellent opportunity to engage with the latest research. The Postgraduate Researcher Seminars are a particularly valuable opportunity for early-career researchers, offering them the chance to share their work with a wide audience. Past seminars have covered crucial subjects such as supporting caregivers of autistic children and the experiences of mixed-heritage students in secondary schools.

For those interested in past presentations or future events, the seminar series team has launched a dedicated website featuring recordings and details of all seminars: DPMH Seminars
