Christmas present swap shop

The University’s Atrium Green Impact Team held their fourth annual swap shop for unwanted Christmas presents on 8 January. It was well attended with over 120 gifts being swapped by staff from across the University, and a few students too. Many swappers also purchased extra gifts and baked goods which raised £107.30 for charity.

The swap shop is a chance to trade those well-meant gifts, that didn’t quite hit the mark, for something you will enjoy more. It’s always amazing to see how items donated by one person get snapped up by someone else!

Comments from swappers include:

‘I’ve looked forward to this for months’

‘This is so much fun’

‘There was a really nice atmosphere at the Atrium and it was an absolute pleasure to go and have a look’

The money raised will be used for microloans to help small enterprises in developing countries grow via Lend With Care. Leftover gifts are being given to colleagues in the Manchester Museum who are planning their own Christmas present swap shop later in the month.
