Our University College for Interdisciplinary Learning (UCIL), has launched its first postgraduate unit: ‘Creating a Sustainable World: Interdisciplinary Applications of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).’

Running this semester, the new unit features over 80 contributors from policy, practice, academia and the public, giving postgraduate students the unique opportunity to explore the UN’s SDG’s in depth.

This credit bearing unit is adapted from the award winning ‘Creating a Sustainable World: 21st Century Challenges and the Sustainable Development Goals’, which formed part of the submission to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, where Manchester placed first in the world for its contribution to the SDGs.

The new postgraduate unit is being delivered in partnership with the Students’ Union (SU) Postgraduate Officer, Nana Fredua Agyeman, and has been supported by other SU colleagues. It will give our postgraduate students the unique opportunity to study something new as part of their degree, meet others from different disciplines, engage with the University’s ethos on social responsibility and make the most out of their master’s programme.

Students will need to check their program specifications to see if they’re eligible to take the unit and can try a taster unit online before sign ups close in February.
